A year in review: what shaped 2024?
As we reflect on 2024, we are proud to have shaped the future wisely and positively, making meaningful contributions across water, energy, agriculture, circular economy, environment and climate change, social policy and sustainable transport.
To us, ‘Shape the future wisely’ is more than a tagline. It embodies Marsden Jacob’s unwavering commitment to driving evidence-based decision-making and actions, navigating complexity and uncertainty to help deliver sustainable, long-term positive outcomes for people and the planet.
While much of the work we do with clients and collaborators is in confidence, here’s a snapshot of some of the 200+ projects we’ve undertaken with 100+ organisations over 2024:
- Supporting more than $20 billion-worth of energy transition investment across wind, solar, batteries and gas.
- Helping facilitate the rollout of container deposit schemes and policies/projects to tackle plastic waste and pollution.
- Sustainable urban and rural water infrastructure – supporting investment across every state and territory in Australia.
- Investing in nature – including working on price submissions that provide for nature positive outcomes worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
- Supporting the development of the First Nations Statement on Agriculture and the first carbon calculator for the agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries.
- Projects to enhance water recovery in the Murray-Darling Basin.
- Collaborating on a world-first report on the state of global voluntary biodiversity credit markets.
- Investigating the implications of the transition to EVs for end-of-life tyre recovery, recycling and end markets.
- Helping deliver LGA community services mapping projects to amplify service providers’ voices and experiences.
- Reviewing the Mining Rehabilitation Fund to enhance WA’s capacity to manage and rehabilitate abandoned mines for better environmental and community safety outcomes.
- Working alongside governments and environmental protection agencies to help reduce food waste – from financial analysis for businesses reducing food waste to helping optimise organics recycling.
Finally, we want to thank our dedicated, passionate and collaborative team. From Sydney to Scandinavia, you make Marsden Jacob a truly great place to work. We look forward to continuing to grow with you in 2025 and beyond.
From all of us at Marsden Jacob, thank you for shaping the future wisely with us in 2024. We wish you a wonderful holiday break and a peaceful and prosperous start to 2025.
